Being on the farm from an early age really fostered my love for the wide open spaces, nature, and the outdoors in general. As a young adult, I decided to go into forestry for a career and subsequently took a 4 year degree in forestry at the University of Alberta. My wife Tammy and I met during that time and we ended up living in Slave Lake after I completed my degree but she still had a few classes left. Our plan was to stay one year but then we fell in love with the lake, started a business, and bought a house, and had 3 kids. So it looks like we will be in Slave Lake for the long haul!

I have always loved looking through old family picturesand bringing those memories back to life!Dusting off those old family photo albums and seeing the spunky side of your younger grandparents, looking back through all of the smiles and laughter of past holidays or events, or seeing my own kids grow up through the yearly photo album we have on our shelf in the basement, all brings a smile to my face. |

I was very comfortable with a point and shoot camera, as I would take it with me on my adventures at work in the wild woods, on our travels, or our social outings with friends. After quite a few years of taking photos of my wife, our kids, our kids’ friends, and my extended family, I decided to try out the idea of becoming a photographer for real. I thought I had a pretty good idea about how things would go, but I found out that I had a lot of learning left to do! (I don’t think that ever stops). I love improving my work and especially enjoy looking back at photos that I have done in the past to see how far I have come; that is so satisfying! This job has allowed me to meet so many awesome people, take part in amazing events and celebrations, and continually challenges me to improve my overall skills. It’s been a ton of fun, and I can’t wait to meet you and capture the kind of memories that you will look back on for years to come with a smile on your face! |
